More model informationThis raised double pen, two room slave cabin with a front porch and a central chimney that opens on both rooms is currently situated in the Magnolia Mound Plantation grounds in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Built in the 1830s, it originally belonged to to the Riverlake Plantation of Point Coupee Parish, LA and was moved, for the sake of it’s preservation, to the Magnolia Mound grounds.
Ernest J. Gaines, the renowned American author, was born in this cabin.
