More model informationThe figure is of a man seated on a bench. He grasps the thicker middle part of the bow in one hand, holding the bow to his mouth s o that the juncture of the stave and middle part is between his parted lips, the other hand is raised, with the forefinger and thumb extended towards the string. The bow is a bent twig, with a little piece of grass-stem slipped on it to represent the thicker part, the string is of a fine wire tied round each end of the bow. A black cotton thread is tied to the wire, its other end round the grass-strem, to brace the ‘string’ to the bow.
