The coastal steamer Manasoo, built in 1899 was a 180 ft steel hulled ship that serviced the Georgian Bay area on Lake Huron. Originally named the Macassa its second name was an amalgamation of two of its destinations Manitoulin Island and Soo Ste Marie. It sank in a storm in 1928 with the loss of sixteen of the twenty-one passengers and crew on board along with over 100 head of cattle. Five were rescued from a life raft by the steamer Manitoba. If you look in the forward lower gangways into the cargo hold you can see the 1927 Chevy Coop that was also being transported. The wreck lies with the stern speared into the bottom in 210 ft of water. It took three dives and 3,896 images to create the model. The photography was done by Andrew Goodman.
