Combined models from different stages of excavation to show the Pocklington Iron Age Cart Burial excavated by MAP Archaeology in 2018.

This model combines models from three stages of the excavation, two horses -buried standing up-,the burial in what has been interpreted as the body of the cart, you can see a dark area of organic material - probably leather - benath the skeleton which was laid on the back of a large shield and the wheels and axle assembly, The dense material identified as revealling the body of the cart has been cut away to make it easier to see the section. The wheels and axle assembly were recorded in situ and thus it was not possible to model the lower section completely .
