The wreck is a small 12.5m long wooden vessel at 8-9m depth in SE Helsinki. It may have been a British sounding vessel that was sunk by Russian/Finnish canon fire from Lehmäsaari battery close by, during the Crimean war in 1853-1856. The wreck is quite close to shore and under busy recreational boating waterway, and usually accessible with reasonable (2 m) visibility only during winter time, with ice diving.
The Finnish Heritage Agency (FHA) id for this wreck is 1278.
The model is based on videos shot in February 2021.
