@dahee.im I'm not sure exactly what the issue is, but the eyes and the rest of the body use 2 different materials, maybe the eye material doesn't find the texture or something. As for the rig, I don't now what you mean by semi-transparent. Maybe you're talking about the skeleton showing up inside the model. In that case you can also hide the ROOT joint to make it disappear.
@Kokusho Thank you for getting back to me! Hiding the separate mesh fixed the "black texture" issue; however, I'm now running into an issue where the eyes are not displaying correctly. They appear to be blocked by a pure white texture. Additionally, the rig appears semi-transparent from certain angles. Maybe I have some sort of setting wrong?

No I didn't use any plug-in. It might be nodes from the old mentalRay rendering which I used to bake the cellshaded texture. You can use the clean Optimize Scene Size option to remove all unknown nodes, or change the file format from .mb to .ma.
hi Yann, I purchased your model but can't save the file in Maya. It throws the error 'file contains unknown nodes or data'. Did you use a plugin to do the rigging? if so, could you tell me what it is?

First, thanks for your purchase, it's greatly appreciated.
About your issue. As you are using Maya, I'm assuming your are working with the original maya file named "Maya.ma" found in the additionnal files ? If you are then, everything should be fine. The bake_maya material is only there to create the cellShaded texture used in this exported sketchfab presentation and in the original file is only assigned to a separated mesh that you can find in the outliner under "export/bake". This mesh overlap with the original and can appear black and create some confusion, I should have hide it by default. I'm guessing your issue comes from this. You can just hide or delete this mesh and if the textures files are still correctly plugged in the body/eye and moustache materials everything should appear fine.

Hello! I just purchased this rig, and I'm having an issue in Maya 2025 where the model appears completely black (except for the eyes) unless I have the geo selected. Selecting the geo turns on the material, but the eyes' texture then disappears. It seems like this is an issue with the "bake_maya" material, which appears as all black in the Hypershade.
If you could, I would appreciate some assistance troubleshooting this rig! I'm really looking forward to animating with it :)
Any chance you got a snapshot of this without the pose? Idc about the texture, but wanna make sure about the topology!

@ViveLaVita Which program and version are you using to open the files ? Did you download the additionnal files on Sketchfab ?
The ROOT joint is only used as a reference point to the scene origin, you can constraint it to whatever you find usefull or delet it all together to fit your use case.
The rig at the moment doesn't support scaling, that's indeed a short coming and I'll try to fix in an update.
As for refund, the Sketchfab store doesn't support refund unfortunatly.
@Kokusho whenever I open the file of the cat, the textures are black or grey. i try to right-click and go to material attributes and it seems that the program is trying to get the texture from the incorrect file. I saved the whole file of the rig in a different file and it doesn't seem to be able to go to it.
I try to put the texture manually myself but it still doesn't work.
unfortunately, there seems to be another problem with its root control that is outside the model itself and is stuck to the CTRL_move
and it also looks like I can't resize the model in general.
if you would like I can send you a screen recording to properly show you the problems and I'll be glad to be able to use the model for animation but encountering these problems does discourage me from using your product and i would also like to be notified if a refund is possible.
