More model informationFilippo Filippi (1830-1887), journalist and music critic, was among the protagonist of Lombard Scapigliatura, a literary movement in the 1860s. This bust is a juvenile work by Medardo Rosso, one of the greatest Italian artists between 1800s and 1900s. The sculpture is inspired by the suggestions of the then-raising photography technology. Rosso loved the blurred contours of pictures. It was, he thought, a manifestation of the soul of the people portrayed.
