More model informationThis vase was gifted to King Kalakaua from the Meiji Emperor of Japan in 1881. The gifting of the vase represents good ties between King Kalakaua and leaders of countries he has visited. Today the vase resides at Iolani Palace and is viewable to the public.
The Friends of Iolani Palace work to preserve, restore, interpret, share and celebrate the unique cultural, historical and spiritual qualities of Iolani Palace and its grounds for the benefit of Native Hawaiians, the people of Hawaii and the world.
