Carved boulder in the Millstone Cleugh area, north of Longframlington, Northumberland.
Positioned only a few metres east of the main road (A697), it was recorded on the Beckensall Archive (BA) as ‘Millstone Burn 1c’ and added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. There are slight differences in the motifs noted by the two archives, with Stan Beckensall’s 1970s diagram showing additional features. Although extremely shallow, this 3D model does seem to pick up shallow depressions in the areas he specified. The BA records:
“A large cup connected to a smaller one by a curved groove. The smaller cup is one of four in a row. Below are five other cups.”

Model created from 5 stereo pairs captured by NADRAP Team 2 in April 2006. Imagery forms part of the NADRAP / ERA archive.
