More model informationMuseum Description: Model of Inuit kayak. Wooden fram of model covered with skin or hide. Light brown in colour. Straps of leather with bone decoration go accross the boat. The hole where the sitter is positioned has a “coning tower” to keep the sitter from getting wet or the kayak filling with water. There are straps accross the top to stop the sitter to keep them from falling out.
Dimensions: length 680mm
Notes: The straps on the deck are for securing hunting equipment, not the sitter.
