More model informationThe 249 ft steel freighter Monkshaven was built in 1882 in South Shields, ENGLAND. It was a victim of the Lake Superior November 1905 storm and grounded on Angus Island. The history websites disagree on some of the details after that but the stern was salvaged and towed to For William, now called Thunder Bay, where it apparently broke from its mooring and sank again, The bow remained on Angus Island and was gradually pounded to pieces. What remains today is many broken pieces of the forward portion of the ship. The model was created from 2,271 images shot on one DPV dive in the 2024 season.
