3D map for my puzzle-platformer game MOONWORLD, as part of tour de moon for unboxed festival, with gabriella de puente and flying object.
i spent three weeks developing, designing, and building this. when i thought about people living on the moon, my interpretation was this: Of course, there would be people living on the moon- but there would be plenty of middle-spaces along the way, made up of disposable and transient locations & items. basketball courts, plastic parks, UFOs, skyscraper-asteroids, big batteries, wires, tubes, trails of hypercubes, and DIY community-terrarium gardens.
we also had to respond to a trope in game design. I always found it funny how videogames provided an expansive open world, and force you into a linear narrative within it. Breaking out of the rat-tunnel and simply exploring a place was always more appealing to me.
