Morton Koopa Jr. - TTYD Style

The Koopalings’ only appearance in Paper Mario was in Color Splash, which was a game that… left a lot to be desired let’s put it that way. Even the sprites were duller and choppier. I decided to make Morton in the style of TTYD, which is still in my opinion the definitive visual style for the series. I used his classic coloration as his modern one originated in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, long after TTYD. Though I kept his proportions from Color Splash since I don’t think he changed that much proportion-wise, unlike others such as Iggy. Morton became my favorite in Bowser Jr.’s Journey, where his unconditional loyalty to Bowser Jr. despite the latter treating him like crap was heartwarming, especially when it finally gave Jr. a change of heart. It’s a crying shame nobody played that game, a hidden gem that sadly bankrupted a studio by selling THAT badly.

I might do the other Koopalings at some point. Don’t expect them to come as a group though- I’ll probably do one here and there between other stuff.
