Mottisfont Monastic Ruins on South Lawn - #13D Model
Remains of monastic buildings immediately to south of Mottisfont mansion. These were exposed during alterations to the house by Mrs Vaudrey c. 1905.
Remains of chapter house. Early C16. Flint with brick and stone dressings and stone column. Wall stands 1m high facing house with near one end opening with brick dressings, near other wall deepens with stone dressings to corners of square 2 x 2m. Much covered by ivy. Portion of column lies to South. Includes the slight remains of the dortor range to the south. Other walls can be seen as parch marks in dry summers across the south lawn.
These models have been captured using Polycam to aid conservation work planning and will be updated with improved models as the work commences.
