Former site of the Museum of London (now in the process of moving to nearby Smithfield market). This site, together with Bastion House, date from the the mid 1970’s and were designed by Powell and Moya (who were also the architects behind the Skylon at the Festival of Britain, and Chichester Festival Theatre).
The buildings have been threatened with demolition for some time and this was finally confirmed in May 2024. I would hope the large, ornate plaque in the sunken garden is saved - this commemorates the the Bull and Mouth Inn which was demolished in 1830 to make way for the Queens Hotel, itself demolished in 1888 and replaced by the General Post Office building in 1894 which is still standing - at the moment!!
