Naturally recovering mangrove forest

This mangrove forest was logged in 2004. In just 15 years it has recovered to a canopy height of 20m and is more dense then a mature forest. Compared to a human plantation within stagnant waters of an Aquaculture pond that has grown less than 3m in 5 years. This demonstrates how important good hydrology is to a mangrove forest.
