Nenagh Friary 17th-Century Memorial TN020-0370153D Model
Within the Franciscan friary (TN020-037002-) which is in the south-east sector of the historic town (TN020-037015-) of Nenagh. The graveslab has been placed upright in a recess in the northern wall of the friary church, beneath the fourth window from the east. A late 17th-century graveslab (H 1.55m x Wth 0.76m x D 0.18m) dedicated to Frances Minchin who died in 1696. This is undecorated with an incised inscription in English capitals which reads: HERE LIES THE BODY OF MRS FRANCES MINCHIN WIFE TO JOHN MINCHIN OF ANNA ESQR ONLY DAUGHTER TO MR DANIEL RYAN OF INCH AND RELIG OF MAJOR VALENTINE POWER OF CLASHMORE IN THE COUNTY OF WATERFORD WHO DIED THE FOURTH DAY OF SEPTEMBER ANNO DO 1696 THIS TOMB ASINED TO MARY KENNEDYE FOR HER INTERMENT ONLY BY I........
