Tasmanian thornbill, Acanthiza ewingii

Tasmanian thornbills build domed nests suspended from twigs. They are made from strips of fibrous bark and soft green moss, bound together with spider web. The side entrance leads to a deep egg chamber which is lined with feathers and fur.
