“Niola Doa-like” motifs in the G.R. d'Archeï (2)3D Model
On the bottom wall of the Gran Riparo d’Archeï, an apparently isolated rounded shape stands out. This painting closely matches the head (or hairstyle) of one the famed Niola Doa engraving shown in the Niola Doa “Site 2”. A white tripartite mark is also well apparent to the left; it could represent the pendants hanging from the wrist of some Niola Doa figures. Faint remnants of white paint that could represent the shoulder and arm profiles of a vanished figure are in evidenced (processed by DStretch_CRGB). On the lower left of the previously described rounded shape, two solid-red figures wearing skirts are present. Traces of a dashed white decoration survive on the skirt of the first figure to the left. These figures are in the same posture of the pecked figures wearing skirts shown in Niola Doa, 150 km to the NE. Reference: The “Niola Doa-like” motifs in the Gran Riparo d’Archeï (Ennedi, Chad).
