Outcrop on private farmland near Whitton Dean, south of Rothbury, Northumberland.
This area of carving was believed to be a new discovery during NADRAP surveys. It’s referenced ‘North Lordenshaw 6z(i)’ on ERA and described as:
“This newly identified panel possesses two single cup marks at one end of the rock…One appears to have been damaged - this is the larger of the two, quite deep and about 0.09 m diameter size. The second, nearer the edge of the panel, is slightly smaller at 0.06 m diameter. However, it should be borne in mind that this and the immediately adjacent North Lordenshaw 6z have been subject to quarrying in the past.”
