North Portal St Patrick's College Chapel Steeple3D ModelNoAI
The north portal of William Hague’s Bell Tower and Steeple (built posthumously 1902-5), St Patrick’s College Chapel, Maynooth, Co. Kildare, Ireland.
J.J. McCarthy was the architect for the chapel but it was completed after his death under the aforementioned Hague and consecrated in 1891. The chapel is located on the south campus of Maynooth University. The richly decorated interior, mostly designed by Hague, has the rather unusual distinction of having exclusively stall-type seating arrangements due to its original purpose as the chapel of the seminary. The oak wooden stall ends are richly carved with individually unique end panicles. The lower walls have carved wooden panelling displaying the arms of the Irish diocese. Each of the eight bays are richly decorated above the panelling with the Stations of The Cross, string courses, and the stained glass windows.
