Tucked silently away in the backyard of the North Spine in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is Annex A. The construction of Annex A is still ongoing and it is in its final stages. The building will be used by the Petrology Group of the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS).
It has an interesting exterior that is made up of artistically-placed slabs of rock tiles. These rock tiles have captivating detail and are of varied textures.
Moreover, the building lies in stark contrast with its surroundings. It is of a shorter height and is more colourful than its white-painted neighbours. A ride on bus 179 will allow a clear view of this building once the bend after Lee Wee Nam Library is passed.
Each tile measures 1.04 m x 1.04 m.
