More model informationMany meteorites are found in the desert and Atlas region of North West Africa. Hence meteorite names from this region start with the letters ‘NWA’ followed by a nondescript number. This particular stone was found in the desert by nomads and brought to market in Morocco. The sawed faces of the stone reveal the interiour while its exteriour is covered by a weathered fusion crust. This unclassified NWA is very likely a stony meteorite. Further research will be needed to establish a full classification.
