Nyx was an ancient Greek mythology the primordial goddess of the night. She was one of the very first beings to exist, born from Chaos (the void that existed before creation).Nyx was so powerful and mysterious that even Zeus, the king of the gods, feared her. In myths, he avoided confronting her directly. She is usually described as a shadowy goddess who brings the night across the sky, often riding in a chariot draped in darkness.Nyx was also the mother of many important deities, often connected to dark or abstract concepts. For example: Hypnos (Sleep) Thanatos (Death) Eris (Strife/Discord) Nemesis (Revenge/Justice) Moirai (the Fates)
Artists often depicted her as a beautiful, dark-winged woman surrounded by stars, representing the night sky itself.
