More model informationThis is one of 13 skulls found during construction in Laguna Canyon, California. The fact that so many individuals of the same species were found together suggests that this may have been a mass stranding event. Modern whales and dolphins sometimes strand themselves in large numbers, and it appears that this behaviour has been around since the late Oligocene, when these fossils were deposited.
