Boulder on Bewick Hill, approx. 3 miles NNE of Powburn, Northumberland.
Found in the outer ramparts of the hillfort on Bewick Hill, this carving was first noted by NADRAP Team 3 during their 2006 surveys. They referenced the carving ‘Old Bewick 3N3’ on ERA in 2008, describing:
“Re-used as part of a probably Iron Age boundary structure of wall and ditch. The panel is small, bearing a group of three well-formed cups on the available surface: one cup is large, with two smaller, but of similar size and depth…Panel lies 0.50 m from Old Bewick 3N2.”
