right ossa cruris of a cow consisting of the shinbone (tibia) and fibula. The fibula is only rudimentary developed. It’s proximal end (caput fibulae) is fused with the head of the tibia forming a short process. Only in some individuals it is a seperate small bone. The distal end of the fibula is formed as the discrete os maleolare.
