Studies carried out by the UN indicate that the population growth expected for 2050 could reach 9.7 billion inhabitants worldwide (UN, 2019). Approximately one-third of the food produced globally for human consumption is lost or wasted, and to meet the future supply needs, effort must be made to increase food production, better handling methods, transportation and consumer access.

The P2Cv is a Smart Mobility product, integrated into a service that aims to improve handling and preservation, therefore reduce food waste, connecting vertical urban farming to the final consumer within the micro food supply chain, and potentially part of a solution increasing the available food quota for the population, removing part of the future need by 2050.
