Painted decoration2. Calatrava La Nueva Fortress3D Model
Painted decoration located in the impressive Fortress of Calatrava La Nueva in Aldea del Rey (Ciudad Real, Spain). The castle/convent of Calatrava La Nueva was built in the 13th century to serve as the headquarters of the powerful Order of Calatrava and today it is one of the most important castles in Spain. Inside, in the Chapter House (Sala Capitular), a rich painted and engraved decoration is preserved on the walls. For conservation reasons, the Chapter House is currently closed to the public, although the rest of the castle is open to visitors.
We want to publicly thank the collaboration of the Castilla-La Mancha regional government, Aldea del Rey City Council and the archaeologist Ana Segovia Fernández, for the facilities they have given us and for the interest they have shown in the project at all times.
