More model informationThe 237 ft wooden bulk freighter Panther was built in 1890 and had a twenty six year career before sinking after a collision in Whitefish Bay, Lake Superior with steamer James J. Hill in 1916. The accident happened of Parisienne Isle. The Panther was carrying grain headed down the lake. The captain of the Hill kept his ship under power heading into the Panther until the entire crew escaped to the Hill. Like all of the Whitefish wrecks there are no Quagga mussels covering the wreck so the shipwreck details are clear. The model was created from 5,282 images captured by three divers Andrew Goodman, Dusty Klifman, Ray Wilson.
