More model information

This is a low poly conversion I did of ‘The Parade Armour of King Erik XIV of Sweden’ high res 3D scan which can be found here: https://skfb.ly/6RoCA The details are amazing, I’m very grateful to be able to have access to such a great historical piece.

I did a simple retopology of the high res scan, my goal was to make the model as low poly as possible with out hurting the overall quality too much as my intended purpose for this model is to be used as a static prop in a game. With projection mapping I used the high res scan to generate diffuse and normals maps. The bakes turned out pretty nice I think, some of the edges are a bit wavey but I couldn’t really help that without increasing the poly count further. I ended up downsizing and compressing textures to make it easy to load and download on sketchfab but the quality is still pretty good for the size.

This model is low poly and is suitable as a static decoration prop in video games.
