Asset information: Particularly popular are the sculptures of human shape and scale found in downtown Madrid at street level. They are so realistic that from a distance they can be confused with pedestrians. Possibly the most attractive of these delightful sculptures is the one called La Paseante which was created by sculptor Roberto Manzano in 1999 for a contest of the Center of Applied Arts and Artistic Crafts. The sculpture lies in front of the Escuela de Arte de la Palma located in the trendy Malasaña neighborhood. La Paseante appears to be dancing carefree in a thin strapless T-shirt and a skirt that shows her beautiful figure.
