This is a piece of petrified wood found in the Ketavik formation in Katmai National Park, Alaska. The Ketavik is a fluvial sandstone, or a rock that formed from sand deposition in a stream or river environment, that formed in the upper Paleocene to lower Eocene (59–48 million years ago) Tree rings can clearly be seen in this fossil, and there are about 80 visible rings.

Maximum width is 14 cm
