Pine Grove Cemetery Aerial

Pine Grove Cemetery is located in the North of the city of Fort Pierce, Florida. This large, African-American burial ground was developed from an earlier burial ground for the area’s AA residents. It was incorporated in 1932 by a Mr. Gaines, who also began the Stone Brothers Funeral Home. Stone Brothers stands today and still manages burials at the site.

This aerial was taken during grave-marker recording by Indian River State College students from Dr. Kyle Freund’s class. The data and pictures collected by the students will be made freely available to search and use for research through the UCF RICHES database.
