Monitoring of post-fire limestone flaking due to the exposure of rock to very high temperatures during severe wildfire. In July/August 2024 parts of Biokovo Nature Park were affected by large wildfire.
In this study we are using handheld 3D scanner Artec Eva to monitor the post-fire disintegration of limestone and breccia outcrops. Post-fire disintegration is related to gradual flaking of rock surface.
