Potsom Posho’ll is home of a high diversity of flora and fauna species. A rapid biological evaluation was carried out in 2019 with interesting results. According to the criteria for identification of Fragile Ecosystems of the National Forestry and Wildlife Service (SERFOR) in terms of biological relevance of flora and fauna, the area was rated with a value of “High” whose criteria indicates a great richness of species of native flora and fauna in relation to their environment (56 species of flora, 65 of birds and 14 of mammals). There are patches of “Tornillo” Cedrelinga cateniformis, a specie in great demand for its wood, with individuals of up to 2 metres in diameter and evidence of endemic species or species under some type of threat according to the IUCN (Morphnus guianensis - category Vulnerable (VU); Lagothrix lagotricha - Endangered (EN); Myrmecophaga tridactyla - Vulnerable (VU); Priodontes maximus - Vulnerable (VU); Panthera onca - Near Threatened (NT)).
