More model informationPiece of Sokoki Pottery. “Traditional work in ceramics, bone and shell was carried out on a regular basis, much as it had been before the arrival of European colonies. Ceramic vessels are technically of high quality, thin and well fired. A minimum of 43 vessels were recovered. If we assume a general homogeneity of artifact density across the site, then upwards of 400-600 pots may have been in use during the six-to-eight-month period of occupation. (A Place Called Squakheag, A People Called Sokoki, in 1663 by Peter A Thomas and Richard T. Colton).” Pottery Piece was provided for scanning by Vermont Archaeology Heritage Center. Project funded by Nulhegan Abenaki Tribe and National Archive’s Grant. POT7007-DS.
