This retro radio model was created as part of my pre-competition training for the PolyCCSkills test. It was my first time diving into a full 3D game asset workflow, and the experience was incredibly exciting! The two-day training focused on equipping me with the skills to create game ready assets from scratch while giving me a thrilling glimpse into professional 3D production processes.
Day 1 Highlights:
Organized project files and gathered photo references. Developed the concept idea for the radio. Progressed through modeling stages: blocking out, creating low-poly, and refining to high-poly.
Day 2 Highlights:
Unwrapped the UVs and textured the model using Substance Painter. Prepared and exported the model and textures for use in Unity. Learned to set up Unity projects and integrate assets into a game environment.
This training was an excellent foundation for mastering 3D modeling and texturing workflows, equipping me with the skills necessary to produce high-quality, game-ready assets.
