Partly reconstructed decorated vessel (D-Ware, Naqada II, 3600 -3300 B.C.) imitating stone-vases. Pictured are – common for these typ of vessels – two Ships, one of them with two cabins and a standard. Furthermore a gazelle, sails, plants and some wavy decor-patterns. The standards – in pharaonic times mainly used to identify cities – could be interpreted either as signs for the ships port of registry or as divine emblems for e.g. Min, Hathor, Neith and Horus.
