Final project for my 3D Modeling 2 class. It was a semester long project where we had to create a diorama scene with props that added to the theme and feel of the environment. I chose to do the inside of a tower in which a princess would be trapped in. I wanted the space to be small and enclosed with only a single window to look out from. I also wanted it to feel cozy with soft light from a lantern and warm tones. I spent the longest on the tower itself. I looked at a lot of medieval tower references. I exaggerated the shape a little from a typical tower to make it more stylized and unique. I am most proud of the oil lamp. It helps that emmisive maps in Sketchfab look amazing. But I also think it is a testament to how far I’ve come modeling-wise this semester. I was able to make a pretty detailed oil lamp that sucessfully reads as a semi-realistic object in less that an hour. That is quite the feat for me.
