3D rendering of a PRP microsphere encapsulating a droplet of oil.
PRP microspheres are made from Beeswax and other natural waxes and assist in the biodegradation and bioremediation of hydrocarbon spills. Beeswax is a natural hydrocarbon and attracts other hydrocarbons like oil. Beeswax contains natural nutrients that make it more digestable for native microbes, already present in our oceans, that have adapted to consume and digest oil. Within the guts of these bacteria oil is broken down into Carbon Dioxide and Water.
PRP binds to oil and prevents it from sticking to surfaces. This shields evironments and wildlife from oil contamination.
One pound of PRP can bioremediate up to 20 times its weight in hydrocarbons.
