Pteranodon

Pteranodon is a genus of large pterosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 to 100 million years ago. Notable for its impressive wingspan, which could reach up to 9 meters, Pteranodon had a distinctive long, backward-sweeping crest on its head, thought to be used for display or species recognition. It primarily fed on fish, likely using its beak to skim the water’s surface. Fossils of Pteranodon have been found in North America, particularly in areas that were once coastal environments, providing valuable insights into the diversity and adaptations of flying reptiles during the age of dinosaurs.
