More model informationDrone PhoDAR and aerial LiDAR mapping of Pumpkin River area used to create 3D terrain model - survey part of a National Geographic grant for Dr. Margo Schwadron, NPS SEAC, in collaboration with our Center for Digital Heritage and Geospatial Information. The Pumpkin River area is part of the Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge in the Florida Everglades and is managed by the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. The background image for comparison is a 1962 aerial. This site is just north of Everglades National Park but is helpful compared to the Turner River site, sharing similar settlement and site configuration and construction aspects.
