A fountain commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897, in the village of Scalby, just north of Scarborough. One of many such monuments across the country, the fountain marks a moment of note for the British monarchy: the first time anyone had achieved 60 years on the throne. Victoria continued to reign into the 20th Century, dying in 1901. The fountain no longer supplies water, but the small park it sits in remains in constant use by the parishioners of Scalby.
Published a week before the 70 year Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, now the longest reigning British monarch.
Processed in Metashape and edited in Blender, May 2022.
