Rapid disintegration of Visoki buk tufa barrier

3D model of Visoki buk tufa barrier Nature park Velebit, Croatia. Visoki buk is highest and most impressive tufa barrier on Zrmanja river, which was heavily damaged during the extreme flood from May, 2023. Extreme rainfall has caused intense rise in level of Zrmanja river, which has caused sighnificant damage along the whole watercourse.

At Visoki buk, flood has caused rapid disentigration of large parts of tufa barrier, which resulted with the collapse of large tufa boulders. This 3D model was created in July 2023, with UAV photogrammetric survey using the DJI Mavic 3 PRO and it was used for the post-flood damage assessment.
