Given that only a few small fragments of the whole artefact are known to us, we can only guess at the overall form. Since these fragments are not related to each other, it is not possible to physically connect them, which would be of more informational value in the conservation/restoration of the helmet than isolated pieces. However, based on several known analogues of better-preserved specimens that share the same features as the fragments discovered at Pohansko, it is possible to proceed to a digital reconstruction of the probable appearance of the entire helmet through 3D sculpting. To responsibly assess which analogous helmet type the fragments most closely match, detailed 3D scans of all parts were taken so that they could then be non-destructively examined and their data better shared.
