Created as part of Microsoft and MPVR’s 2018 “VR Influencers” Initiative (a program where VR Artists design 3D models for a futuristic sustainable city using a Samsung Odyssey WMR Headset), “Recyclic” is a strange hybrid: a mixture of wind energy generator and public sculpture/creature that looks to be crafted from recycled materials. It’s name derives from a combination of the words “recycle” and “cyclical”, and one purpose it has is to capture wind energy while highlighting how recycled material might be used to create a visually striking symbol that shows not everything beautiful needs to be new, shiny or straight off the factory floor. It is the first sculpture found in the FSC’s (FutureSustainableCity’s) Attenborough Renewable Sculpture Garden.
