More model informationThis fragment is part of a larger antefix that would have been plastered onto wooden beams to protect them but also as decoration. The antefix would have depicted a Roman Goddess Nike with a vegetal motif, reminicent of old Italic temples and in a neo-Attic style. This particular fragment depicts the lower half of a Nike and a small part of what would be a flower, part of the larger vegetal motif. The fragment has simple motifs and a lack of detail compared to older antefixes. This fragment dates from the Augustan to Flavian times, but it is difficult to determine their exact age as they were discovered without clear stratigraphic association with the villa they were found in.
