Reproduction of a roman ceramic bowl Hispanic sigillata. Type DRAG 37
Luxury tableware. Hemispherical bowl of Terra Sigillata Hispánica (TSH) of Drag type. 37, of high imperial chronology (S I-II AD), very possibly in imitation of the South Gallics made in the Graufesenque during the transition period of 60-80 AD, with very common decorations in this type of productions: festoons, plant decoration, animal and human. The presence of arches denotes that we are facing one of the most characteristic decorative elements of the first TSH productions, this type of decoration being a loan from the Gallic workshops. The decoration features a hunting scene of dogs chasing hares, with the god Mercury under arcades, carrying the pouch (purse) and the caduceus (symbols related to trade).
