Probably created by Giovanni Battista Guelfi at Easton Neston in Northamptonshire in the 1720s. Added to a Roman statue of Athena in the Arundel and Pomfret Collections, which was inspired by the Greek Athena Parthenos. Captured by Pat Tanner with a FARO Plantinum Arm and Laser-line Probe. Text by Dr Alison Pollard, University of Oxford.
